About Us...
Cathy Honeycutt, Catering Director
Cathy
Honeycutt became Sweet Grass Catering by the way of her son
and her Mama Mac the two people who taught her everything about
cooking. After years of working in media she expanded her
talents o organizing events
for her friends and family. She brings with her a vast knowledge
and passion for designing and coordinating,
down to the smallest detail for dining at home, weddings,
corporate catering, yacht receptions and university affairs.
Cathy grew
up in a Southern Kitchen where her grandmother supervised her
daughters and granddaughters as they prepared the meals for family and friends. The dinner table was
always full of people who loved good homemade food, pies and
conversation. In the spring we planted the seeds for the garden,
summer was full of fresh food everyday from the garden and in
the fall we gathered, canned and dried food to get us though the
winter.
As the
years went by her son went to culinary school and brought home
his passion as she learned another facet to cooking: the world of gourmet.
Life with Scott was always a culinary adventure. We
laughed and cried as we created new and exciting food. He won
numerous awards, cooked in some fabulous kitchens and assisted
with the Chef’s Auction for the March of Dimes in Texas and
South Carolina. His legacy continues with Sweet Grass Catering.
It was his invention and discovery that has lead to this
fabulous business. We continue to honor him with the food as he
watches over everything. If you ever get a chance and you have a
good “Scott” story; tell Cathy. She loves the stories.
Scott and his mom started Sweetgrass Catering together as a family business in
2000. Sweetgrass Catering continues and will continue to deliver great food with a "WOW" factor to the Grand Strand and beyond.
With our service and food we provide to you and your guests that "pop" which will make your
event something to remember forever. Our best is what you will get every
time.
